How to Beat the Doomsday Machine

It’s huge. It’s powerful. But you can beat it.

The Doomsday Machine (Star Trek) was a massive planet killer. But it had one weakness.

That guy up there, Starfleet Commodore Matt Decker (actor William Windom), was driven mad in his pursuit of vengeance against the Doomsday Machine, which had destroyed his entire crew. It was his white whale.

In a desperate final act, he found the one weakness of the monstrous foe. The starship Enterprise then proceeded, at great risk, to destroy it.

It was one of the most famous episodes of the original Star Trek TV series.

(little known fact: William Windom was my cousin!)

So far as I know, I have not been driven mad…yet. But I have taken up the battle against a massive, all-encompassing foe. Something so big, it is the sworn enemy of us all.

Noise and distraction.

We are all surrounded by a cacophony of information, a tsunami of stimulation that swallows up our messages and destroys our ability to communicate. And if you can’t get your message across, you’re doomed.

But there is one weapon that defeats the noise. Clarity.

Clarity is the only way to break through and get heard.

You don’t have to be driven mad by the white whale of distraction that surrounds you and your audience. Learn to be clear, through my books, workshops, and consulting.

Boldly seek out new strategies and tactics to get clear. After all, it’s only logical.
